interaction

We enjoy travelling and meeting new people, but we also lead a busy life and respect your privacy. Enjoy unwinding!

We live permanently on the property. If we aren’t at home restoring the farmhouse or recreating the large garden we both work locally and can be contacted via mobile at all times, we will be more than happy to assist you with anything we can during your stay.

About the neighbourhood

Our location is a cracker! We’re far enough away from Melbourne that you’ll rest fully and we’re close to Tatura and Shepparton, making us an ideal spot for a range of guests, from folks doing business locally, to couples wanting to press the pause button on a busy life.

Known affectionately as the food bowl of Australia, we are surrounded by fertile farmlands- orchards, farms, horse studs and tree lined waterways! Stonefruit, apples, pears, cherries, olives, grapes and loads of other farm produce is available during the season from farm gate sales. Farmers markets, art galleries, cut flower farm, walking trails, bush land, river swimming & fishing, boutique wineries, cider house and multiple golf clubs are all at our doorstep for you to explore.

We are located close to the Goulburn (7kms), with a short drive to the Murray and Campaspe rivers and Waranga Basin.

For the wine lovers, we are a less than an hour to the renown Nagambie Wine region. Offering world class wine, river frontage with boat tours and a fantastic array of fine food and chocolate.

Daytrips within an hours drive include destinations like Echuca, Dookie, Euroa and Avenel.

You will find a comprehensive compendium in the guestroom with local maps, information and restaurant suggestions.

We’ve also included a basket with picnic supplies and blanket should you wish to explore the local area.

Other things to note

The Farmstead Tatura is surrounded by working farms which includes a grazing /cropping farm directly around the farmhouse and a dairy nearby. As such, at times there may be animals, farm machinery and other equipment operational around the farm. So be prepared for all things on a normal farm- smells, noises and farm terrain! You are welcome to walk up the laneways and around our grounds, but we ask please do not open gates or enter the paddocks unless you have prior permission as they may contain livestock.

Animals also live on this farm, including three very friendly dogs, chooks and an outdoor cat.
